Empower users with on-demand access to apps with Jamf Pro's Self Service app catalog. Users can navigate to Self Service and instantly download the resources they need most, including: apps, email, printer drivers and even VPN access. You can remind users to update software through Self Service, too. Jamf Self Service empowers you to be more productive, successful, and self-sufficient with your iOS or iPadOS device. Using the intuitive interface, you can browse and install trusted apps and books from your organization, update configurations, and receive real-time notifications for available services without having to contact IT. You can download the latest version of Self Service for manual installation using a policy on computers with 10.12 or later. Log in to Jamf Pro. In the top-right corner of the page, click Settings.

There are two ways to install Jamf Self Service on managed computers. You can install Self Service automatically on all managed computers using the settings in Jamf Pro, or you can install Self Service using a policy. Installing Self Service using a policy gives you more control over the installation.
Jamf Self Service Application
Jamf Self Service for macOS 10.10.0 and later can run on macOS 10.11.x or later.

- Step 1 - Launch the Self Service app. You can find the Self Service app in your Applications folder, or just search for it using Spotlight. Self Service in the Applications Folder. Self Service in Spotlight. Step 2 - Locate the desired software package within Self Service. You can either browse to the program or search for it using the built-in search bar. Once you have located it, click on the Install button within its entry and wait for Self Service to indicate that the install has finished.
Note: Computers with macOS 10.9 or earlier must use Self Service 9.101.0 or earlier. For instructions on downloading an earlier version of Self Service, see the Jamf Pro Compatibility Reference for macOS Knowledge Base article.
- Log in to Jamf Pro.
- In the top-right corner of the page, click Settings .
- Click Self Service.
- Click macOS .
- Click Edit.
- Select the Install Automatically checkbox.
- (Optional) Configure the installation location for Self Service.
- Click Save.
Self Service is installed on all managed computers the next time they check in with Jamf Pro. It is also installed on computers as they are newly enrolled.
- Log in to Jamf Pro.
- In the top-right corner of the page, click Settings .
- Click Self Service.
- Click macOS .
- Click Download .
The Self Service.tar.gz file is downloaded immediately. - Double-click the file to decompress it.
- Use Composer or another package-building tool to package the Self Service application included in the file. For information on building packages using Composer, see the Composer User Guide.
- Add the package to Jamf Admin or Jamf Pro. For more information, see Managing Packages.
- Create a policy to install Self Service. For detailed instructions, see Installing Packages.
